DALLAS ─ To meet the rising demand for best practice advice in the design, implementation and delivery of Shared Services functions, Everest Group, a global consulting and research firm, has appointed Michael Fraley to lead the firm’s expanded Shared Services Practice.

Insights into Shared Services strategies for onshore, nearshore and captive operations will be presented by Everest consultants at the IQPC (International Quality and Productivity Center) Shared Services and Outsourcing Week events in Orlando and Sydney.
- At the 14th Annual North American SSOW conference in Orlando, March 22-25, 2010, Eric Simonson, principal, Everest Group, will moderate a panel discussion, “India 2.0: The Next Generation of China & A Closer Look at Emerging Markets,” on March 24. Serving as panel members will be Anand Ramesh, research director, Everest Group; Nicolo Gligo Saenz, Invest Chile; and Esteban Carril, former director of Latin America shared services for EMC and 3Com; and Jay Desai, vice president of Global Sourcing, Northern Trust.
- Peter Barta, CEO and managing principal, Everest Group Australasia, will discuss the attributes that drive significant integration across multiple functions with Shared Services Centers and business units is his session, “When is ‘Shared Services’ not Really ‘Shared Services,’” on May 12 at the 13th Annual Australasian SSOW in Sydney, May 10-12, 2010.
Fraley brings 15-plus years of experience with global corporations, most recently serving as the managing director of Shared Services for a global advisory company. He is experienced in guiding performance improvement and cost reduction across multi-function domains with a particular focus in F&A, HR and IT. Through the use of shared services, strategic outsourcing, process re-engineering and through the application of best practices, Fraley is versed in the advantages and nuances of alternative sourcing operating models.
Earlier in his career, Fraley was with The Hackett Group’s Finance Transformation and Sourcing Practice. At Hackett, he served as one of 30 original founding members of Answerthink Consulting Group and led more than 20 of the firm’s largest and most complex outsourcing and shared services engagements, many of which were global. He earned an undergraduate degree at Youngstown State University and a master of business administration at Carnegie Mellon University.
