Akshay Mathur

Partner

Akshay Mathur is a Partner at Everest Group, advising enterprises, Global Capability Centers (GCCs), technology and business services providers, and investment promotion agencies on global services and growth strategy. His work spans the strategic, commercial, and operational decisions involved in building, scaling, and optimizing global delivery capabilities.

He advises enterprises, GCCs, and service providers on location and footprint strategy, workforce planning, sourcing, cost benchmarking, cost optimization, margin improvement, and the economics of alternative delivery models. Akshay helps leaders assess how decisions related to location, talent, sourcing, and delivery influence costs, margins, capability development, and long-term business performance.

For technology and business services providers, he develops end-to-end GCC strategies that define where to play and how to win. This includes identifying priority markets, sectors, and accounts; shaping GCC propositions; developing routes to market and ecosystem partnerships; and evaluating the commercial and margin implications of different growth options.

Akshay also leads Everest Group’s work with enterprises establishing new GCCs. He supports clients throughout the journey - from defining the GCC’s strategic role and ambition and designing the GBS and GCC operating model to assessing resource requirements, developing the business case, evaluating locations, designing and managing RFPs, selecting vendors and partners, and overseeing the broader sourcing process.

For investment promotion agencies, Akshay leads the development of multi-year services and GCC growth roadmaps. These roadmaps help countries expand their IT services and business process services sectors, identify priority industries and capabilities, strengthen their value propositions, and attract investment from enterprises, service providers, and GCCs.

Before joining Everest Group, Akshay held consulting and corporate strategy roles at Bain & Company, Cognizant, and Genpact, where he advised senior leaders on strategic, market, and growth priorities. He holds an MBA from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai, India.
