Daryl Lee
Chief Financial Officer
Daryl Lee has proven expertise in Sarbanes-Oxley evaluations, financial planning and analysis, international start-ups, business strategy, working with external auditors and mitigating risk. As Chief Financial Officer for Everest Group, Daryl leverages his broad experience and business insight, built on more than three decades in senior finance roles and including “Big 4” experience. He has worked primarily with financial institutions as Vice President of Finance or Controller, honing his expertise in improving cash management, financial reporting, due diligence analysis and calculating business valuations.
Before joining Everest Group, Daryl served as Vice President of Finance at Joy Foods, where he created a cash forecast process, established management reporting with key metrics, and implemented stringent cost controls based on his analysis of working capital and low inventory turnover.
Prior to Joy Foods, Daryl was Vice President, Finance & Business Analysis at Banctec. His responsibilities included reviewing and updating SECT 10Q and 10K reports, providing understanding of the company’s financial condition and analyzing the impact of the leveraged buyout on financial statements. He also negotiated a business interruption insurance settlement, and completed SOX Section 404 internal control evaluations, leading to an improved internal control environment. He also developed activity-based costing models to evaluate line of business profitability, minimized income taxes, and negotiated a performance bond and letter of credit.
At Xerox, Daryl was Controller/Business Planner. He developed pricing strategies and facilitated negotiations of an outsourcing contract, implemented business reporting, evaluated business profitability, solved sales expense budget overrun, and implemented a new accounting and finance reporting system.
Early in his career, he was the Senior Financial Analyst, Internal Control Specialist, at General Electric. He also served as a Senior Staff Auditor at Coopers & Lybrand.
Daryl has an MBA in Finance from the University of Louisville in Kentucky and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida A&M University.
